Happy New Year! We hope you had a fantastic holiday season. 2023 marks huge year for ITR, it is our 50th anniversary! We have lots in store for you all, starting with Deadly Denouement: a slightly dangerous dinner theatre play.

We are absolutely thrilled that Mary Jane Maffini, an award-winning mystery author who lives in Manotick, has agreed to write a dinner-theatre murder mystery especially for us! Mary Jane has won several Arthur Ellis awards for her short stories and has also had 19 mystery novels published. Mary Jane also wrote Death Goes to the Dogs, a murder mystery which ITR performed as a benefit for Ottawa Therapy Dogs.

Here’s a synopsis of the play.

Deadly Denouement: a slightly dangerous dinner theatre play.
“The Padgett’s Players, a highly active community theatre group in Padgett’s Corners, Ontario, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with more than the usual competition and sniping while rehearsing a play that’s been written especially for the troop. On opening night simmering tensions come to a boil and a series of disasters strikes the players. Brace yourself: Not everyone makes it to curtain call. But who would be behind such diabolical actions? The ITR dinner theatre audience will be essential in solving the crime. A word to the wise: Trust no one.”
The murder mystery will be a dinner theatre on March 3rd in the evening and 4th at noon at St. James United Church in Osgoode which has a capacity for an audience of between 50 and 70. The meal will be provided by the United Church Women.

Tickets on sale February 1st, 2023.
